Almond Butter

It is so easy to make almond butter. All you need is almonds, a good food processor, and 15 to 20 minutes of your time and you will have homemade almond butter that you can eat as a snack or use as an ingredient in a recipe. I like to eat almond butter with just toast and honey, or slices of apple and cinnamon.

Prep Time: 15-20 minutes
Yields: 1.5 cup
 Ingredients:

2 Cups of Oven Roasted Almonds (recipe here)*
A food Processor
You can use raw almonds but I like to use warm roasted almonds because they break down easily and I also like the extra nutty flavor it gives the butter

Place the roasted almonds in the food processor and pulse on high for about 3-5 minutes until the almonds are ground

 Using a spatula smooth down the ground almond that is stuck to the side of the processor and pulse again for 3-5

Once again, as soon as the ground almond is stuck to the side of the processor push it down with the spatula.
As you see on the picture, the ground almonds are starting to form an oily base.

Repulse again, this time the almonds form paste.
But the butter is not ready just yet.

 Turn on the food processor again until the paste turns creamy as the picture shows

You can add cinnamon, honey or coconut oil for added flavor
Store in an air tight jar in the fridge for up to 10 days.
Enjoy with toast and honey or use it as a dip for apples and cinnamon!
