Brownie in a Mug

brownie in a mug I usually need something sweet around 3 or 4 pm to have with my coffee, preferably with chocolate. That’s the only way I could keep going till 10 or 11 pm. I have been trying to be good lately. So I don’t keep any cookies at home, and I don’t bake as much as I used to. But then I discovered this brownie in a mug recipe. Very dangerous!!

I was browsing through Pinterest, and there was a post that had a list of different recipes of brownie in a mug. Ahh… that sounded and looked so good. I could make one brownie when I really really need that sweet chocolaty snack, and not have to worry about leftovers calling my name every minute of the day. Sounds great, right? Not so fast. Because this recipe is super easy and takes less than 5 minutes to make, I found myself making it more often. What can I say, it is just the ultimate hot, fresh, chocolate afternoon treat to pair with a cup of coffee. So I decided to share it with my lovely readers.

Now, I tried a bunch of recipes. The one I am sharing today was a winner for me. It truly tastes like a real brownie. It comes out moist, you just have to make sure you don’t over cook it. I usually cook it for 1 minute, and if it still looks gooey, I add 15 – 30 seconds.

I have to warn you, the recipe does call for a lot of sugar, 4 tablespoons. So when you make it, find someone to share it with. Then you won’t feel as guilty 😉

As always, enjoy!

You can use a whisk like the one you see in the picture. I have a tiny one that fits in the mug. If you don’t have one, just use a fork, it works just as well. brownie in a mug 2 Add the vanilla, oil or butter (whichever you’re using) and water. Mix well using a spoon this time, making sure you get the dry ingredients at the bottom of the mug.

Microwave for 60-90 seconds. I would start with 1 minute, then stick a toothpick in the center of the mug. If it looks too wet, then ad another 20 to 30 second. brownie in a mug 4 Et voila, brownie in mug is ready in less than 5 minutes.  Be careful it is very hot. brownie in a mug 5 You can top it off with some ice cream to cool it off. I used vanilla, peanut butter ice cream. Let me tell you, it was the perfect combination and it can’t get better than that. brownie in a mug 6 Enjoy hot with ice cream, or at room temperature a cup of coffee.
