Chocolate Chip Brownies

0

Next time you want wow your family and friends, try this moist chocolate chip brownies recipe.

I followed Ina Garten’s Outrageous Brownie recipe, my favorite food network star.  Except that I changed a couple of things. She used 4 sticks of butter, instead I am only using 1 stick of butter and I added some yogurt to make sure the brownies are moist without all the fat from the butter.

I hope you get to try this recipe and enjoy it!

 Prep Time: 10 minutes

 Cook Time: 50 minutes

 Ingredients:

1

1/4 cup of butter (1 stick)
1 cup of semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup of white chocolate chips
1/2 cup of low fat plain yogurt
1 cup of granulated sugar
1/4 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder
3/4 cup of all purpose flour + 1 tbsp
4 large eggs
1/2 tsp of baking powder
A pinch of salt
1 tsp of vanilla
1 tbsp of instant coffee
Cooking Spray

Directions

Preheat over to 350 degrees F

1-1

Cover a 9*5 baking pan and spray with cooking pray
This will help you take the brownies out of the pan without a sweat and you won’t have to do a lot of clean up

2

Melt together the butter and chocolate chips in a medium bowl over simmering water, make sure the water doesn’t touch the bowl

7

Once the chocolate and butter melt, remove from heat and mix in the instant coffee while still hot.  Then set aside to allow mixture to cool
I could eat this just the way it is, chocolate, butter and coffee
It can’t get better than that….

4

In a separate bowl, mix the dry ingredients together and sift them to get rid of any lumps and set aside.  The dry ingredients are flour, sugar, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder

6

Mix is the remaining 1 tbsp of flour with the white chocolate chips. This is a trick that I learned from Ina Garten, when you mix flour with chocolate chips before you fold it in the batter, the chocolate chips won’t sink as the brownies bake.

8

Add the eggs, yogurt and vanilla to the chocolate mixture. Ideally you want to add one ingredient at a time and one egg at at time. I added all of them together for the sake of picture

10

Mix well then add the dry ingredients mixture slowly while mixing

12

Fold in the chocolate chips into the batter

13

Pour in the batter into the baking pan

14

Bake for 35 to 40 minutes or until the toothpick comes out clean after you insert in into the brownie

15

Remove from oven and allow to cool

16

Cut the brownie into equal size bars
If you are planing on storing them, then wrap every brownie bar individually in plastic wrap. By doing so, the brownies will stay fresh and moist for as long as a week

hmmm, I wonder what happened to that missing piece???
