Grilled Moroccan Salmon

Just about every doctor or nutritionist you would talk to, would advice you to eat fish at least 2 times/week, and salmon is one of your best choices. For that reason I try to make salmon as often as I can and have many recipes for it.  Today however, I thought I’d share with you the traditional Moroccan fish marinate. We call this marinate “Sharmola”. You can use with any kind of fish and grill, bake or even fry the fish, you will be amazed how good it taste. I have even used this marinate with ground chicken and turkey. In Morocco we like to serve fish with carrot salad and eggplant salad.

Prep Time: 5  minutes

Cook Time: 10 minutes

Serves: 3

Ingredients:

1
1 lb of Salmon
1 tsp of Cumin
1 tsp of Paprika
1 tsp of Ground Ginger
1 tsp of Turmeric
1 tbsp of chopped cilantro
1 Glove of minced garlic
2 Tbsp of Olive oil
Zest and juice of 1 lemon
Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:

Add all the ingredients to the salmon

Using your hands, coat it well.
You can let the salmon marinate for 1/2 an hour, but you don’t have to.

On low heat, grill the salmon skin down for 6 minutes

Turn around and grill for another 4 minutes

Enjoy hot or at room temperature with rice or vegetables!
