Meat Balls

In this recipe, I combined a Moroccan technique with Persian spices.

 

 

 

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Cook Time: 40 minutes

 

 

 

Ingredients

1

  • 1 lb of lean Ground Beef (Preferably 95%)

  • 2 Tomatoes Peeled and Diced
  • 1/2 Onion Finely Chopped

  • Salt, Pepper
  • 1Tbsp of Ginger
  • 1/2 Tsp of Saffron
  • 1/2 Tsp of Cinnamon
  • 1 Tbsp of Tomato Paste
  • 1 Tbsp of Olive Oil
  • 1 cup of water

Directions:

Pre-heat a medium size pan,

 add the olive oil and onions

Saute onion for 5 minutes,

then add tomatoes and tomato paste.

Season with salt and pepper

Saute the tomatoes with the onions until you get a paste

 just like the pictures shows

Add 1 cup of water

Cover the pan; Cook a medium-low heat for 15 minutes

In the mean time using a bowl,

 add the meat and all the spices including salt and pepper

Mix well and form meat balls

By now the sauce should be ready;

it should be semi-thick just like the picture shows

Add the meat balls to sauce carefully

Cook the meat on each side in the sauce for 5-10 minutes

 without covering the pan

Enjoy with Rice or Bread Rolls

  2. These were so easy and so good! The meatballs have a little bite which I guess is from the ginger and just adds to the overall flavors. The sauce is so simple and to die for. Thank you so much for all the work to post this. I’ll check out your other recipes.
