Stuffed Dates

Dates have so many health benefits. They are a good source of protein, potassium and vitamins, just to name a few.  They are a great energy booster since they contain natural sugars like glucose and fructose. For that reason, you will always find dates on my kitchen counter top instead of cookies or chips. I like to stuff them with walnuts to add a little bit of a crunch and many other nutritional bonuses such as omega-3 and vitamins E.  If your kids are not allergic to nuts, then this is a delicious and healthy snack you can serve your family.  You can make a plate in no time, leave it on the counter and see these beauties disappear. You can also serve stuffed dates as an appetizer or even desert.

 

All you need:

2 cups of Majdool Dates
1 cup of Walnuts

Directions:

Remove the pit from the dates
Discard of any dates that have warms inside
Cut the walnuts into small pieces

Insert the walnuts in the dates cavity

Serve preferably with milk
